Summer Shots
(i have my qualms)
I should include words. The above photo was from a wonderful wedding up at a meadow in the Siskiyous.
This photo was from Hotel Lucia in Portland. We went up for quarterly scans for my love, and they’ve come back “N.E.D.” which is a fancy of way of saying No Evidence of Disease, which is a fancy way of saying, we’ll see you in four months. Everytime I hear “N.E.D.” I think about Ned, and then I think about Ned Nickerson, Nancy Drew’s boyfriend and what a funny name Ned is. Ned is a bit of a nickname for Ed, and apparently means “wealthy guardian” and of course, for Nancy, he was. So, that’s how my mind works, which is to say, does it?
It does, but not in the way you’d think.
This was at the Portland Art Museum which has a Hockney exhibit going on, but of course, we had to stop and see the Chihuly. PAM also has an incredible photography exhibit, which I loved very much. I don’t know why, but I love photography so much.
Cows, of course. Went for a walk. Saw cows in my neighborhood. I hear tell that our local creek has a new beaver family setting up shop, so I’m likely to be down there tomorrow evening to see if I can witness its glory.
Speaking of wildlife, this is blurry, but my son was trying to keep the dog inside whilst snapping a pic of a Pepe Le Pew who meandered through our backyard yesterday. I’m currently typing all this out hoping I get a sighting, because again…how my mind works.
Finally, where are all my Widow’s Baes at? I’m deeply obsessed with this show, perhaps unhealthily so, having subscribed to several Spotify playlists and subReddits all about it.
I mostly feel like my inner workings align with this meme, though I have a fair amount of Wyck fighting with Loftis in me, too. Hopeful harbingers of optimistic doom, that’s me.
That’s the past month in review.
Drop me a comment if you see this.

I haven't watched much Widow's Bay yet (just the first 20 min, then something came up) but I hear good things. Knowing you're *obsessed* with it definitely piques my interest.
I love hearing that NED news too. Makes me think of Flanders, Ned.
